December 4th – 16th, 2023
Reception and Awards Ceremony: Friday, December 8th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM
The Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition is a showcase for recent work created by the graduating seniors of the University of Texas Arlington’s Department of Art and Art History. The fall 2023 exhibition features the work of 47 students demonstrating a wide variety of skills in concentrations including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, glass, ceramics, cinematic arts, and visual communication design.
Dr. August Jordan Davis, chair of the Department of Art and Art History and director of The Gallery at UTA stated, “Each semester we finish the gallery’s program exhibiting the work of graduating seniors in our BFA exhibition. This showcases the work of studio arts and visual communication design BFAs and offers a chance to celebrate the culmination of their time at UTA. It is wonderful to see the students bring their family and friends to our awards reception, where we recognize the great creative accomplishments these new graduates have produced. The professional exhibition in The Gallery at UTA is the first public debut for many of these artists and designers and launches them into their new role as professional creatives. It is a chance to come together and reflect on how they have blossomed in their imaginative and innovative creations, and it is my favorite moment of each semester in the Department of Art and Art History.”
